GSL General Sales List subject to control under the Medicines Act 1977
CD ANAB Subject to full control under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 but the following relaxation. Prescription and labelling requirements do not apply (except those under the medicines act) records are NOT required to be kept in a CD register by retailers.
CD Lic Subject to full control under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and Regulations (Schedule 2 -opiates and major stimulants)
CDNR Subject to control under the Misuse of Drugs Acts 1971 and the Regulations except that records are NOT required to be kept in a CD register. Invoices are to be kept for two years. (Schedule 3 Barbiturates)
CDBENZ Subject to control under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 but exempt from most restrictions under the Regulations (Schedule 4-Benzodiazepine Tranquillisers) No safe custody requirements
CDINV Subject to control under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 but exempt from restrictions under the Regulations except that invoices are required to be kept for two years (Schedule 5)
MD Medical Device
BS Borderline Substance listed in Part xv of the Drug Tariff
PO GSL licensed products for sale through pharmacies only
SL Drugs and other substances not to be prescribed on NHS prescriptions (Selected List)
